Academia in the Era of Knowledge-Based Economy

Doctoral candidates are mainly based in academia, but become more and more involved in other sectors as well. After the official welcome addresses by the Czech and Slovak ministers of education, the overarching theme of the 2009 Eurodoc conference will be discussed in three keynote speeches. These will focus on the role of academia within the framework of a European competitive knowledge based society.
