Join Eurodoc
Dear Colleague,
It is my pleasure and honor to welcome and wish you luck and success in your future membership to Eurodoc (the European council for doctoral candidates). Eurodoc is an international federation of 34 national organizations of Doctoral Candidates and Early Stage Researchers from European Union and the Council of Europe. To be qualified for membership in Eurodoc your organization must be a national association representing Early Stage Researchers from a member country of the Council of Europe.
We have put behind us a year in which Eurodoc has celebrated 10 years of existence, and not only existence, but hard work and great results. Members of Eurodoc have been involved in a number of important processes, through different arenas and platforms, related to the situation of Early Stage Researchers and research itself in Europe.
In the coming years we will face new challenges and rapid transformations in many infrastructures of society, especially in higher education and research, both in Europe and throughout the world. We are counting on your help to face these challenges and advance the quality of doctoral programmes and the standards of research activity in all of our member countries.
In the past years Eurodoc has become a major organization representing the interests of Doctoral Candidates (DC) and Early Stage Researchers (ESR) inside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and European Research Area (ERA). As the voice of DC & ESRs we work very closely with the European Commission, European University Association, Eurosciences, Initiative for Science in Europe among others, and we are also a partner in the Bologna process. Eurodoc places a strong focus on cooperation, which is not limited to large institutional partners, but also many other organizations which share similar goals and beliefs. As a result of this policy, we have had successful partnerships in numerous international projects already, with many more that are still in progress.
We hope you will participate in Eurodoc by joining our annual general meeting, and also contributing to our working groups, projects, conferences and other activities. We encourage you to help develop Eurodoc, and your national organizations by doing so.
On behalf of the board of Eurodoc, I would like to offer all the help and support you may need in your application procedure. Do not hesitate to contact us.
Good luck and hope to welcome you at our next conference and annual general meeting in Budapest in 2014.
With best regards, Slobodan Radicev President of EURODOC
