The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek meets Eurodoc President Izabela Stanisławiszyn

Izabela Stanisławiszyn, Eurodoc President had a meeting with the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek in the Information Office of the European Parliament in Warsaw on 25 June 2010.

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the organization to the President of the European Parliament and discuss the possibilities of cooperation in order to strengthen Eurodoc’s dialogue with the main institutional stakeholders at the EU level.

During the meeting Izabela Stanisławiszyn presented Eurodoc’s history, goals, task and current activities and projects conducted by Eurodoc. The President of the European Parliament expressed his appreciation for the organization’s activities spreading across 37 countries-members of the European Union and the Council of Europe. He also expressed his full support for Eurodoc’s aims related to the research, education for the knowledge-based society and civil society.

It was agreed to establish cooperation between Eurodoc and the European Parliament in order to enable Eurodoccers’ active participation in debates and assistance in the elaboration of corresponding policies at EU level by attending the hearings of the EP committees which are of Eurodoc’s interest.
