Mobility Workgroup

Researchers Mobility workgroup has been active since the very beginning of Eurodoc (2002), contributing to many activities and proposing actions and plans to facilitate European mobility. Our members have actively participated at many high-level meetings and other European or national events, contributed to organization of various events concerning researchers mobility, as well as to policy documents. Aside from our traditional activities related to geographical mobility and removing obstacles, according to which the WG is widely known, we are also involved in activities concerning other sorts of mobility, such as inter-sectorial (academy-industry or public-private), trans-disciplinary, etc. Mobility is recognized as a central issue for the Bologna process and its importance is also emphasized in EC’s “European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers”.

With the aim to promote mobility among younger researchers, particularly PhD candidates, and improve conditions in which mobility is provided, many activities have taken place.

Considering mobility as an instrument for the transfer of scientific knowledge, as well as in terms of career prospects, institutional and personal development, trans-national cooperation, and innovation, and following continuously developments in the European Research Area (ERA), a range of new activities is planned.
