Eurodoc endorses “Preserving the foundation of innovation: enhancing early-stage collaborative R&I in FP10”

Friday the 11th of July a number of international organizations active in the Research & Innovation field released a statement “Preserving the foundation of innovation: enhancing early-stage collaborative R&I in FP10” focusing especially on the importance of also ensuring a strong Pillar 2 and 3 in FP10

As highlighted in the statement, the type of research covered in these pillars takes place before market competition and is focused on low- to mid- Technology and Societal Readiness Levels. This is part of the backbone of Europe’s capacity to develop new technologies and build shared infrastructures that underpin entire sectors. This is collaborative research at its finest, and is essential in shaping Europe’s ability to address global challenges and ensure competitiveness. The statement underscores the needs to address the barriers by also early career researchers.

The board of Eurodoc shares the sentiment expressed in the statement that, in the upcoming FP10, there is a need to invest in research across all 3+1 pillars compared to the current framework program, Horizon Europe. Therefore, we endorse the statement.
